As a patient and a nurse practitioner, I highly recommend periodontist Dr Navid Rahmani. Prior to my first visit he had consulted with my dentist (Dr. Joseph Lattinelli) about the work I needed, he had reviewed my X-rays, and had an outline of a plan to present to me for discussion. I was immediately impressed by his intelligence and skill. I truly appreciated his ability to speak plainly to me about what needed to be done, and the best way to do it. He and his office worked with me on the cost.

I spent one morning having the major portion of the work done. (excisions, implants, bone grafting) He and his staff were highly attentive to my needs while I was undergoing the work, and I was fully prepared for the post op care I needed to do at home. Dr Rahmani called me at home 48 hours after to check up on me even though it was Sunday. My post op visits went smoothly, and I have healed well under Dr Rahmani’s care. I am on schedule to proceed to the next portion of this work in the fall.

Having spent so much time with Dr Rahmani at this point I can say that this work is his calling, it’s not just a job. Dr Rahmani truly wants the best outcome for me. Dr Rahmani’s office staff are all helpful, efficient, and always pleasant and professional. I have not had long wait times in the office before being seen. I’m very pleased with the quality of the work that periodontist Dr. Rahmani performed. He was my third opinion for a subepithelial tissue graft and he took the time to assess this issue along with overall recession in a much more holistic way than other NYC periodontists I had visited, spotting poor previous orthodontia, as one of the causes. He was also more thorough and straightforward in responding to my questions about risks and expected outcomes.

In the end he was able to successfully harvest enough tissue to graft all three teeth at risk (this was something that others had said would require two separate procedures) and the results have been excellent.

The procedure itself isn’t a small thing, mainly due to the discomfort of stitches in one’s mouth for weeks while healing. However, Dr. Rahmani had me come in for regular follow-ups to ensure proper healing and provided several creative solutions to protect my mouth from the stitches and ease discomfort while healing. 5 stars are not enough to describe the staff, care and quality of periodontal work I received in the extensive work I had done. The process was not rushed and great care was taken by absolutely everyone in the office to ensure my comfort throughout the process. The end result is an amazing transformation that has left me with self confidence and an amazing smile that I constantly get compliments on. Everything looks natural and is of the highest quality. Any issues I’m not comfortable with are addressed immediately to make me comfortable.
